The HLI program is a 3-week long initiative designed to nurture aspiring global leaders from diverse backgrounds who are committed to contributing to the betterment of their countries. The program will focus on topics such as leadership principles, conflict resolution, and international cooperation. This is a great opportunity for those who wish to receive training from world-class educators to hone their communication, negotiation, public speaking, and other interpersonal skills. Additionally, participants will have the chance to connect with like-minded aspiring global leaders from around the world while visiting the U.S.

Requirements
To be eligible for the Hansen Summer Institute, candidates must meet the following criteria:
For Non-U.S. Students (from regions affected by conflict or social unrest):
- Must be an upper-division undergraduate with at least two years of college/university experience, or a graduate student with a professional interest in fields such as international relations, diplomacy, or international economic development.
- Applicants should be aged 20-25 at the start of the program.
- Candidates must have demonstrated leadership abilities in their community, country, or region, beyond the classroom.
- English proficiency must be confirmed in writing by an academic advisor.
- A valid international passport and, if required, a U.S. visa must be obtained before the program begins.
- Preference is given to those who have not previously visited the United States.
For US students
- Must be an upper-division undergraduate with at least two years of college/university experience, or a graduate student with a professional interest in fields such as international relations, diplomacy, or international economic development.
