Foreign Affairs Information Technology Fellowship 2025 

General Information: 

The Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, is a two-year program designed to support U.S. citizens pursuing IT-related degrees while preparing them for a career as Diplomatic Technology Officers in the Foreign Service. The fellowship includes academic funding, internships, and mentoring, emphasizing diversity and inclusion in its recruitment efforts.

Date: Fall 2025 to Spring 2027

Deadline:

  • Early Review Deadline: January 7, 2025
  • Final Deadline: January 21, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST

Benefits:

  • Up to $43,500 annually for tuition, room, board, books, and fees for 02 years
  • 02 summer internships (01 in Washington, D.C., and 01 overseas)
  • Stipends, housing, and travel allowances for internships
  • Personalized mentoring from a Foreign Service Diplomatic Technology Officer
  • Professional development series in D.C.
  • Appointment in the Foreign Service upon successful completion of the program

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time IT-related degree program at a U.S.-accredited institution
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Specific eligibility criteria based on undergraduate or graduate status
