General Information:
The Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) offers 02 fellowship programs for U.S. scholars to conduct international, multi-country research in the humanities, social sciences, and allied natural sciences. These fellowships support U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars with Ph.D.s, with an emphasis on research in American overseas research centers.
Type: Partially funded
Date: 2025 research terms
- Multi-Country Fellowship for up to a year
- CAORC-NEH Fellowship for 4–6 months
Deadline:
- Multi-Country Fellowship: December 5, 2024
- CAORC-NEH Fellowship: January 15, 2025
Benefits:
- Multi-Country Research Fellowship: Awards up to $12,600 for research in at least 02 countries outside the U.S.
- CAORC-NEH Research Fellowship: $5,000 per month for 4–6 months
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship (for both programs); for CAORC-NEH, eligible foreign nationals must have U.S. residency for 3+ years
- Doctoral candidates (ABD), Ph.D. holders, or terminal degree holders; independent scholars may also apply
- Research must involve countries hosting American overseas research centers
