General Information:
The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) invites applications for the 2025–26 Stanton Nuclear Security Fellowship, sponsored by the Stanton Foundation. This fellowship provides early-career scholars specializing in nuclear security a year-long opportunity to conduct policy-relevant research at CFR offices in New York or Washington, DC.
Type: Fully funded
Date: Begins September 2025, lasts 12 months
Deadline: December 2, 2024
Benefits:
- Stipend of $137,000 for junior faculty or $101,000 for postdoctoral fellows (2024–25 rates)
- Monthly payments over 12 months
- Work on-site at CFR’s New York or Washington, DC, office at least 03 days/week
- In-person professional environment with required “Anchor Days” on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship
- Record of professional achievement
- Postdoctoral or tenure-track junior faculty position at a recognized university
- Eligibility extended to junior law faculty and those with a terminal law degree
