General Information:
The Echidna Global Scholars Program is a six-month fellowship aimed at leaders from the Global South, hosted by the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. Scholars research to advance gender equality in education and develop their leadership and policy skills, with a focus on improving educational opportunities for girls, young women, and gender non-conforming individuals.
Benefits:
- A stipend of $25,000 for living expenses
- Coverage of visa process costs
- Single-occupancy housing for the 4-month residency
- Round-trip travel expenses covered
- Limited health insurance during the fellowship
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years in education, gender studies, international development, or related fields
- Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field
- Strong ties to the Global South with a commitment to return after the fellowship
- Deep knowledge of education and gender issues
- Proficiency in English
- Research focuses on education for girls and gender non-conforming individuals with a gender-transformative framework
